CXInsight enables a user to examine the
differences between any two file revisions. This facility is
available for text files, and any of the 80+ supported
image file types. When two files are selected from the
revision list, and the view tab selected on the detail pane
the contents of the two files are shown in the tabbed
pane. The view menu offers options to tile text files
horizontally or vertically, or show as a single composite
file. Scrolling either file will cause the other file to
be scrolled to the corresponding location.
When viewing two image file revisions simultaneously
the image is scaled to the available area if necessary to
allow the user to judge the changes between the revisions.
The file viewer may be zoomed in and out to the maximum
available size by clicking the maximize / restore icon in
the top right corner of the viewer.
Unrelated, or indirectly related files may be compared by
selecting two files in the tree view, this concatenates
the revision list for both items from which the revisions
to compare can be selected. Ancestor revisions can be
included in the revision list by changing the current
view to 'show
branch ancestors' to allow easier comparisons. In lists
that show only a top revision, such as a 'checked out'
view the right click option 'Show Changes' provides a
quick means to see the changes from the previous version.
